The Artist Delivery Lead (Festivals & Projects) is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of artist programming across Untitled Group’s festivals, venue-based activity, and special projects.

This role sits at the intersection of Programming and Delivery, translating artist bookings into structured, executable outcomes across festivals, contracted venues, and standalone projects. It ensures a high standard of artist experience, strong contract discipline, and seamless integration of artist requirements into broader event and venue operations.

Working closely with Programming and the Head of Live Strategy & Growth, this role provides leadership across artist contracting, advancing, and delivery timelines, while maintaining a strong understanding of how festivals, venues, and live projects operate cross-functionally.

The role plays a key part in enabling scalable growth across both festival and venue pipelines, while protecting creative integrity and artist experience at every stage.

EFFORT AREAS: HOW I SPEND MY ENERGY AND TIME DAY TO DAY

  • Tracking and ensuring the timely progression of key milestones for festivals and projects. 
  • Tracking artist-related milestones across festivals, venues, and special projects.
  • Aligning teams on milestones and delivery dates, and making and communication adjustments when necessary. 
  • Facilitating cross-departmental communication to ensure the timely and efficient coordination of artist-related logistics, budgeting, and operational support.
  • Ensuring smooth contract negotiations, approvals, and execution for artists, while managing the recruitment, training, and performance of Artist Liaison teams
  • Ensuring all operational logistics, vendor relationships, and on-the-ground activities are set up and aligned with the event’s objectives and vision.
  • Providing regular updates on project status, identifying risks and issues, and recommending solutions to ensure progress remains on track.
  • Coordinating post-event evaluations to gather feedback, assess project success, identify areas for improvement, and implement lessons learned for future projects.

Responsibilities

  • Artist Programming Delivery
    • Lead the end-to-end delivery of artist programming across festivals, venues, and special projects.
    • Act as the primary internal lead for artist-related execution, bridging Programming and operational teams.
    • Ensure artist requirements are accurately translated into delivery plans across all project types.
    • Maintain high standards of artist experience across all touchpoints.
    • Identify and proactively mitigate risks relating to artist scheduling, contracts, and delivery.
  • Contracting & Workflow Management
    • Oversee artist contract workflow and execution across festivals and projects.
    • Ensure contract workflows extend across festivals, venues, and special projects.
    • Ensure contract documentation is accurate and delivered within required timeframes.
    • Manage contract tracking, signatures and obligation compliance.
    • Support complex or high-profile contract execution from a delivery standpoint.
  • Advancing & Artist Experience
    • Oversee advancing processes across festivals and applicable projects.
    • Extend advancing processes across venue bookings and special projects.
    • Ensure artist requirements are operationally integrated.
    • Lead recruitment and management of Artist Liaisons (ALs).
    • Maintain high standards of artist experience and execution quality.
    • Lead recruitment, onboarding and management of Artist Liaison (AL) teams and project-based contractors for festivals and live projects.
    • Build scalable staffing models for artist delivery across festival and project delivery.
    • Ensure contractors/AL staff are briefed, trained and deployed in line with artist experience standards.
    • Own and manage the relevant contractor and AL staffing budgets for festivals and live projects, in collaboration with Finance and internal stakeholders.
  • Festival, Venue & Project Delivery
    • Lead artist delivery across BTV, Wildlands, Ability, and other designated live projects.
    • Own delivery timelines, milestone tracking, and execution readiness.
    • Ensure alignment between festival delivery, venue activity, and special projects.
    • Coordinate with Programming, Touring, Site Operations, and Finance and other departments to ensure alignment.
    • Identify and escalate delivery risks proactively
  • Venue Booking Delivery Oversight
    • Lead and manage team members responsible for venue booking advancement and delivery (e.g. The Espy, Plaza Hotel and other contracted venues).
    • Ensure venue-related milestones, contractual obligations and documentation are delivered in line with agreed timelines.
    • Maintain clear reporting and visibility over venue booking pipelines and readiness.
    • Escalate material risks and ensure alignment between venue delivery and broader project timelines.
    • Embed consistent, structured venue booking processes across the team.
  • Delivery Governance & Reporting
    • Maintain structured project dashboards and milestone tracking.
    • Provide delivery updates to Head of Live Strategy & Growth.
    • Lead post-event wash-ups with a focus on artist delivery, experience, and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership
    • Lead and mentor direct report(s) with clarity and accountability.
    • Lead and mentor Artist Liaison teams and contractors across festivals, venues, and projects.
    • Foster a calm, disciplined and solutions-oriented delivery culture.
    • Provide clear direction and feedback to uphold execution standards.
