LA-based DJ and producer Le Youth (aka Wes Quinonez) will return to Australia for his first headline dates in close to a decade this September, playing two exclusive shows in Melbourne and Sydney presented by Untitled Group.
The two intimate shows are happening on Friday, 13 and Saturday, 14 September, with Le Youth set to perform at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and Max Watts Melbourne, respectively. Tickets are on sale now via the Untitled Group website.
Sharing the tour poster and dates on his Instagram, the Feel Around You DJ wrote, “Hey Australia, I’m coming back, and I can’t wait to see you.”
Since its release in 2022, Le Youth’s highly anticipated debut album Reminders has amassed over 22.1 million streams and was quickly followed up by last year’s About Us – which received the Deluxe Edition treatment earlier this year. To say that Le Youth is “hot right now” is an understatement.
Purple Sneakers has been tracking Le Youth’s career for ten years.
In a review of his track Feel Your Love featuring Javeon, Purple Sneakers’ Gavin Butler wrote, “He's got that kind of bouncy house aesthetic that could've been stamped at almost any time during the past twenty years: a sound at once modern and yet thoroughly nostalgic for the vibes of yesteryear.”
Le Youth grooved his way onto the airwaves in 2012 with his breezy, CASSIE-sampling/covering hit COOL. Having been released in 2006, Me & U might not have seemed overly nostalgic at the time—as far as R&B house sampling goes—but Le Youth cast that feeling out further when reeling in the vibes for Feel Your Love and his songs over the last decade.
