In a really positive sign of not only normality but growth in the Australian music scene, Brisbane based Wildlands Festival has announced they’re expanding to Adelaide and Perth.
Wildlands festival is still a baby amongst its peers having first broken ground in 2019. Understandably it took a little break in 2020 with a near-impossible landscape due to Covid but had a strong showing in 2021 with a two-day event called Wildlands Festival Weekender.
Across the two years they’ve had a stack of talent with Tyler, The Creator, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Dom Dolla, RL Grime, Skepta, The Veronicas, What So Not, Lime Cordiale all doing their things respectively.
The 2022 return sees not only a home ground show in Brisbane but expanding to Adelaide and Perth. The Perth move makes a lot of sense with one of the founders being Origin Fields who run one hell of a New Years event.
The other half is Untitled Group which boast a ridiculous run of events including Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts, Grapevine Gathering, For The Love, Ability Fest & more.
No dates yet and no artists announced yet but the latest video posted to their socials features a track by Diplo which is a pretty big clue that the Mad Decent label founder is heading back down under.
